Monitoring Elasmobranch Biodiversity in Northern Africa

We are collaborating with local researchers in Northern Africa to better describe regional shark catches and fisheries dynamics. With a dedicated network of port observers, scientists, fishermen, and seafood vendors, our objective is to collect and synthesize information on shark catches and fishing effort to better understand the regional distribution and abundance of elasmobranchs and their role in local fisheries. Currently, port monitoring is ongoing in Tunisia and Libya.
